🦫Labor Day Greetings😓

IMAGE: What is going on with Betelgeuse? The red giant star may be getting ready to explode! These Side-by-side photos taken with the same exposure under the same conditions show the dramatic change Betelgeuse underwent during its Great Dimming. The photo at left was taken in February 2016, the one on the right on December 31, 2019, when the star was approaching the deep minimum. Betelgeuse is the 10th brightest star in the sky, located in Orion’s right shoulder. It’s a red supergiant, an bloated beast larger than the orbit of Jupiter. Betelgeuse is on its way to dying by detonating as a supernova.📸 Courtesy of Brian Ottum
