Does Joe Rogan Enable Grifters?

The moon landings were real. There’s no doubt about it, right?

Wrong. Dozens of conspiracy theorists claim it was faked, citing supposed evidence such as:

1. The waving American flag on the Moon, which they claim, proves the presence of wind and thus the lack of a vacuum.

2. The absence of stars in the background of the photographs, which they argue is evidence of the landings being staged.

3. The lack of dust being scattered when the lunar lander touched down, which they believe is inconsistent with a real landing.

4. The claim that the technology to send humans to the Moon was lacking or that the radiation belts and other space hazards made such a trip impossible.

5. Conspiracy theories about the U.S. government faking the landings to win the Space Race, some even suggesting filmmaker Stanley Kubrick’s involvement.

Recently, Joe Rogan hosted debunker Bart Sibrel to review the ‘evidence’ above and failed to bring in a counter expert like me to debunk the debunker. I’m preparing a video response to Joe and Bart based on the following moon-rock-solid evidence that the Apollo landings did indeed occur:

1. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)’s Chandrayaan2 Orbiter captured images of NASA’s Apollo 11 & 12 landing sites have repeatedly imaged the lunar landing sites, both of which capture the Lunar Module descent stages and the tracks left by the astronauts.

2. Over 8,000 photos from the Apollo missions have been publicly released, and hundreds of pounds of lunar samples have been returned to Earth.

3. The scientific equipment installed on the Moon, such as seismometers and mirrors, remains active and in use today.

4. The testimonies of the astronauts and mission control personnel involved in the Moon landings have remained consistent over the years, lending credibility to their claims.

5. The Moon landings involved international collaboration, with countries like the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom accessing the data and samples collected during the missions, further corroborating their authenticity.

It’s important to keep an open mind. But make sure your brain doesn’t fall out, Joe!

About a year ago, I went on one of the biggest podcasts in India, the Abhijit Chavda podcast. Abhijit was kind enough to hos me again this week so I thought I’d share with you the previous video to whet your appetite for what comes next!

Genius

Not to be outdone by conspiracy theorists like Bart Sibrel and Tucker Carlson, past guest Patrick Bet-David chimed in with his hot take on “the government lied to us once so I don’t even believe the moon landing happened” conspiracy theory. Disappointed by Patrick’s lack of critical thinking…

Speaking of NASA really visiting the moon, you absolutely must see my friend Andrew McCarthy’s website, Cosmic Background, where he features the most beautiful astrophotography in the universe. You can follow Andrew’s astronomical adventures on TikTok, X/Twitter and IG and purchase copies of this stunning image and more shipped to wherever you are in the universe. (Note: I’m not affiliated with Andrew financially or otherwise — just want to feature this amazing content creator!)

Conversation

Is Earth unique, or are there other Earth-like planets full of life? If so, what might life be like on these other planets? Could we even detect it? These questions have puzzled people for millennia. Now, we finally have the technology to explore it. Among the people who have taken up the search for other Earth-like planets and extraterrestrial life is today’s guest, Lisa Kaltenegger!
